Your first HTMA showed where you started. Your retest helps show what has changed.
We compare your new hair mineral findings with your previous results, review what you have been doing, and create an updated personalised nutrition plan for where you are now.
Why have an HTMA retest?
Your nutritional picture does not stay still.
Since your first HTMA, you may have changed your diet, supplements, exercise, sleep, lifestyle or other daily habits.
A retest gives us a new point of comparison.
We can ask:
- What appears to have changed?
- Which mineral patterns look different?
- What still deserves attention?
- Have any new priorities appeared?
- Does your original nutrition plan still make sense?
The purpose is not to repeat your first test. It is to decide what your next nutritional plan should look like.
When should I consider my first retest?
As a practical guide, we suggest considering your first HTMA retest at around 3 months.
This gives you time to follow your original nutrition plan before reviewing the next hair mineral pattern.
A simple journey:

Consider your first retest at about 3 months

Three months is a practical recommendation rather than a fixed rule. The right timing may vary according to your individual circumstances.
What happens when you order your retest?
1. We use your first HTMA as the starting point
Your earlier HTMA gives us something valuable: a baseline.
That is one of the main differences between your first test and your retest.
2. You collect a fresh hair sample
You collect a new sample following the current hair collection instructions.
3. Your sample goes for laboratory analysis
The fresh sample is registered and submitted for mineral analysis.
4. We compare the new findings with your previous HTMA
Instead of looking only at the latest numbers, we consider the new mineral pattern alongside your earlier result.
5. We review what has happened since your first test
We consider your current diet, supplements, symptoms, lifestyle, health goals and the changes you have made.
6. We create your new personalised nutrition plan
You receive a detailed updated plan reflecting your current situation, rather than simply being told to continue the original plan indefinitely.
What do I receive?
- Your new HTMA laboratory findings
-
Comparison with your previous HTMA
We look at the new result in the context of your earlier pattern. -
Explanation of the important changes
We focus on what may be useful rather than simply presenting numbers. -
A detailed updated personalised nutrition plan
Your plan reflects the latest findings, your progress and your current goals. -
Clear next actions
What to continue, what may need changing and what deserves further attention. -
Follow-up guidance
So you can understand the plan and put it into practice.
You are not simply buying another set of mineral values. The value of the retest is in reviewing the direction of change and deciding what to do next.
What are we comparing?
We look at the new hair mineral pattern alongside your earlier result and your current nutritional picture.
Questions may include:
- Have previously notable mineral patterns changed?
- Are important mineral relationships different?
- Do any findings deserve more attention than before?
- Does your current diet still fit your goals?
- Are your current supplements still appropriate?
- Have your priorities changed?
- Have your energy, sleep, recovery or other concerns changed?
The emphasis is on change over time — not simply whether one number has gone up or down.
Your new nutrition plan may be different
This is one of the most important reasons for retesting.
Your first personalised nutrition plan was created using the information available at that time.
If your nutritional picture changes, it may no longer make sense to follow exactly the same recommendations indefinitely.
Your updated plan may therefore:
- continue recommendations that still make sense;
- change the emphasis of your diet;
- review your supplement strategy;
- reduce emphasis on areas that appear less important;
- focus more attention on new priorities.
Retest → compare → reassess → update your plan.
What happens after my first retest?
You do not necessarily need to keep testing every few months.
After the first progress review, where continued monitoring remains useful, we suggest considering a further HTMA at approximately annual intervals.
This can provide a sensible long-term checkpoint without turning testing into something that is done unnecessarily often.
The appropriate interval can still vary according to your circumstances, goals and the questions being considered.
Who is the HTMA Retest for?
This service is designed for someone who has already completed an HTMA and now wants to review progress.
It may be particularly useful if:
- you have followed your first personalised nutrition plan;
- you have made meaningful changes to your diet;
- you have changed supplements;
- your lifestyle or training has changed;
- your health priorities are different;
- you want to compare your new mineral pattern with your earlier baseline;
- you want an updated plan rather than continuing the old one indefinitely.
Is this your first HTMA?
If you have not previously completed an HTMA, start with our Initial HTMA & Personalised Nutrition Plan.
Your first test establishes the starting point that makes a later comparison possible.
What HTMA does not replace
HTMA measures minerals present in a hair sample.
It is not the same as measuring current mineral concentrations in blood, and it should not be used to diagnose an acute mineral or electrolyte problem.
If your symptoms or circumstances suggest that conventional clinical testing or medical assessment is needed, that should take priority.
HTMA can provide additional nutritional context. It does not replace appropriate blood testing, medical diagnosis or treatment.
Your HTMA Retest journey
We begin with your previous HTMA as the baseline.
Follow the current collection instructions.
We receive a new set of hair mineral findings.
We look at what appears to have changed and what still deserves attention.
Clear recommendations based on where you are now.
Your first HTMA gives us a starting point. Your retest turns that starting point into a progress journey.
Important
HTMA is used here as part of a nutritional review. It does not diagnose disease and does not replace medical assessment, blood testing or treatment where these are required.
Retesting intervals are practical recommendations rather than fixed medical rules. The most appropriate timing depends on the individual situation.
